CVB Reps Attends WV Tourism Conference


PARKERSBURG, WV (November 1, 2007) – A record number of tourism industry partners gathered at The Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, WV November 5-7 to discuss emerging travel trends, and gain new insight on Internet marketing. The conference theme was "Wired and Wonderful."

The West Virginia Division of Tourism, the West Virginia CVB Association and the West Virginia Hospitality & Travel Association hosted the event and that featured an agenda of experienced speakers who will stimulated thought and discussion regarding emerging trends, innovative opportunities and integrated marketing.

With Internet marketing dominating the world of travel and tourism, this year’s focus of the conference was centered on providing education and insight into online marketing and advertising under the theme “Wired and Wonderful.”

Different educational break-out sessions covered topics such as search engine optimization, website design, online advertising, and other key marketing trends.

“Attending the annual state conference is important for CVBs like ours,” Nicely said. “It allows us to network and gain best practices and suggestions, as well as valuable knowledge regarding new marketing trends for the industry. This year’s conference is especially important as we look to enter into the e-marketing world with new initiatives in attracting visitors to Greater Parkersburg.”
