Greater Parkersburg area featured in Country Living Magazine
Parkersburg, West Virginia -- Plenty of fun in Parkersburg reads the headline in the August 2007 issue of Country Living Magazine, a publication of the Ohio Electric Cooperative.
The monthly publication features travel related articles and information on surrounding destinations for its members. The 25 Ohio Electric Cooperative combined serves more than 380,000 homes and businesses in 77 of Ohio's 88 counties. This combined service territory covers about 40 percent of Ohio's land area, including a majority of the state's rural sections.
The Greater Parkersburg Convention & Visitors Bureau office worked with freelance travel writer Hazel Freeman earlier this year to provide the publication with additional information as she toured area attractions. In all, the recent article on Parkersburg showcased 28 area attractions, parks, events, shops, and overnight accommodations that detailed the regions history as well as must see sites.
"The article serves as a great tool to entice people to make a trip to Greater Parkersburg this fall or in the coming months, Greater Parkersburg CVB President Steve Nicely said. The publication targets a key demographic and geographic population for us. The two-page article highlights the many wonderful sites there are to see and experience that are just a short drive away. The article also features several images overlooking the Ohio River and exhibits within area museums.
The article lists the CVB web site and toll-free number for visitors to learn more about the area or request a free travel guide. The Country Living article is available to read in-full online by selecting the August 2007 issue at www.buckeyepower.com .
